Terroirs and winemaking

Located to the west of the Loire Valley, in the heart of the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation area, the estate is 20 minutes south-east of Nantes in the direction of Clisson.
The plots, from different terroirs (2-mica schists, Gneiss, Gabbro) are worked to allow the rock to naturally express its minerality.
The grapes grown on these lands come, in large part, from the grape variety called “Melon de Bourgogne“, an emblematic variety of the Nantes vineyard. The other part is dedicated to the “Gamay and Folle blanche” grape varieties.

Sustainable organic farming

In the vines, the objective is to promote the life of the soil and the natural defenses of the plant thanks to organic work and the channeling of vibrational energies which brings beautiful finesse to the wines.
Shallow soil cultivation, grassing under the row, treatments with herbal teas and plant decoctions (horsetail, yarrow, meadowsweet, comfrey, nettle, etc.) which reinforce the effects of small doses of copper and sulfur allowing a effective cryptogamic protection.
Vines aged 35 to 60 years require special attention.
The entire estate is managed according to the specifications of organic farming (Ecocert Certification) and biodynamic (without certification) with the absence of chemicals.

the winemaker

Victor Cossy

After working twenty years in Architecture and graphic design, I decided to give meaning to my life and embark on training in viticulture/oenology after my meeting with B. Chéreau in 2016.
For three years, the latter introduced me to vine cultivation and winemaking. In 2019, he gave me a hectare of vines, cultivated organically since 2007, to help me get started.

Installation hors cadre familial et des idées novatrices

A young winemaker not from a farming family, I created the estate in January 2019 and today I cultivate 2.60 hectares with the desire to gradually expand the surface area to a maximum of four hectares.
With a touch of innovation and forgotten ancestral methods, my approach is voluntary, full of “common sense” and always allowing myself to be accompanied by nature without ever trying to control it. Above all, I seek to enhance the land I cultivate and thus produce healthy and generous wines.
